Inspiration

Currently, certain areas lack essential amenities such as gardens, kindergartens, and dog parks is specific areas in the city. In order to address this issue of imbalance of aminities and lots of complains enable the government to facilitate the development of such amenities in these areas, we have devised a comprehensive project plan.

What it does

In this system, residents are required to log in using their credentials and select the type of action they wish to undertake, such as "register a complaint" or "request an amenity," from the web page. They can then simply register their opinion. Based on the feedback received, the government will review the requests and proceed with developing the necessary amenities in the area if deemed necessary.

How we built it

Initially, we commenced by developing the user interface on the notebook and proceeded to work on the frontend aspect. Once the frontend was completed, our focus shifted towards the backend modules, including MongoDB and AWS S3 bucket integration. Subsequently, we began working on the domain and other necessary elements to facilitate integration. As REST API grew we tried implementing AWS API gateway for serverless api management

Challenges we ran into

We encountered challenges when attempting to integrate a world map based on geolocation functionality for selecting cities. Following this, the major hurdle we faced was integrating the entire user interface with the backend modules, MongoDB and AWS S3.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In less than 30 hours, we successfully built this project, encompassing both frontend and fully functional backend components. We take immense pride in our accomplishment, having completed the project within such a remarkably short timeframe.

What we learned

We learned a lot from this hackathon, such as how to work efficiently with colleagues in the real world and how to collaborate effectively to deliver perfect software before the deadline. Most importantly, we learned how to manage our time effectively to achieve something in such a short period.

What's next for A4R: Amenity for Residents

In the future, we aim to deploy this project globally and integrate an OpenAI chatbot to provide answers to users' simple questions. If the questions prove to be difficult to answer, the chatbot will redirect them to the appropriate government channels for assistance.
